Time flies- I am where I was...!!!

" the only thing that is tailor made by life is trouble- you have stich the happiness, success and desires yourself"

This quote is a direct pickup from the television commercial of Grasim suitings. But well..what the hell.. this is the only ad which puts this fact about life right on your face... that unlike windows life is software that does not come with a troubleshooting feature. But well.. your friends and family pretty much make up for that part.

But not always.

This year is into its third month...and the only thing that gave me an high was Sania my neice... rest all.. is as dull as it can be... I think that how soever superstitous... but this surely seems true that the transition second of the new years night sets the trend for the year that is to come. It was a very frustrating night... not not sexually... but well... emotionally... I was at home.. I was angry...coz everything got spoilt for me... and I thought that I had grown up... there was no party to look fwd to and there was no maid at my place either. So that meant that my transition day/night was spent in the bed under the covers me all cranky n frustrated... more so.. that I could only get to speak to my boyfriend after 1 am (that happens almost every year) somehow I had managed to talk to him in that transition phase in 2006-07, no wonder that we were able to meet thrice last year.. very memorable.

This year- No such start or push has been given to me...or rather- I think that I missed out on something... there is frankly speaking nothing to look forward to this year... I cant even seem to scrounge up internships...forget any one being outside Delhi... I was banking on a certain scholarship paper... that is happening in less than 10 days from now... and I am so fucked up coz...its a banking/finance paper...and I belong to a science background... I dont even knw my budget basics...

That is the career... trend that is going on...

Emotionally...family wise... I dunno..its a mixed bag.... but I know that my frustration about my career plan going all haywire is spoiling stuffs here too... all I can say is that I have become much more angrier..irritable.... and even though we have a amid...she needs to be constantly supervised...that means..even though I am not washing utensils.... I am still washing clothes (coz of the washing machine...she's not keen to learn how to operate it) and warming the food in the microwave...

The only person that I am being very pateint with is Shayon, that is because... we dont get time to fling out our frustrations at each other... we ...well atleast he is keeping very busy. Btw, he is down with chicken pox... all my dear friends who read my blog... wish him best of health... and now... finally his dream of being a proffessional blogger is turning into a reality... he wrote his very first blog for WATblog... and it got published too... that is great news na...

I know life is not fair... that is an old saying... it maybe cliched... but its surely is as applicable as it gets... So here I am where I was... nothing much to look forward to... but still tring to weave... my dreams into the knit of reality in the fabric of life.....

Love woes.....

The other day I was talking to my college friend Aashish. We all are planning to meet up on saturday and maybe go out for a movie, if our exams are postponed further. Anyways, there are basically two things that we end up talking, either food or about our respective love lives.

It so happens that in 2005 thanks to my lil bit of intervention Aashish and hi lady love finally got around to professing their love to each other. The thing in their relationship is that even though they stay about 20 mins apart from each other thanks to all the snooping aunties of the colony and strict parents both of em cant meet up if its not a college day....!!! Well.... that is their story... atleast they get to meet when its college.....

Yahan par toh kahani hi aur hai.... Me n Shayon how much ever do we like, its really hard for us to spend the time we would like with each other. We are bound by a limit known as that of cash. Its always the financial constraint that comes. If we do manage to get our finances in order, thanks to our schedule, we end up so tired that during the night when we can talk without being disturbed we end up slepping and not talking at all. Can you believe it that its been like so long... yeah... almost a week maybe that Shayon and I havent really talked properly... and this time both the reasons are present... its the starting of the year and money has become a problem... already... and then both colleges are on... and the there was my fest and now the exam time is also around the corner...

Winter is so depressing and its becoming gloomier thanks to all the love woes that are going on...!!!

(Sigh....!!!)

Abhivyakti '07-'08

My New year started with a Bang... literally.... The yearly college fest that usually happens during the spring season was sprung upon us just as the weather department declared cold wave in the NCR.

Though, the fest was officially started on the 15th of December'07 with the presentation competation taking the lead... the cultural fest started on the 2nd of January'08. The entire experience of preparing for the events starting from the 2nd was exhilarating. What with the group dance being the hugest of the projects of this event.

The theme of the cultural fest this ytime bsically revolved around patriotism, religion and folk.... and our group dance was on Vande Matram by A.R. Rehman. It was so much of fun, making everybody practice and ofcourse choreographing the dance. But the best part about the whole thing was that I was the only girl in my group that was staying back the latest. What with the dresses to be arranged and then making sure that the music was right... and then ofcourse the demandss ofd our faculty and keeping everybody happy... it took all the diplomacy that I had to put the show forward for our department. Ofcourse, my friends, which included both my classmates and seniors made all their efforts to have me around without losing their cool.

Anyways- if our group dance and the fashion show were the biggest things that were on our minds then the highlight of our participation was doing the unexpected and winning in the categories in which we were the last minute entries. The best of this was the cooking competation, wherein we ransacked the appt of one of our faculty member and cooked four dishes in half and hour and managed to grab the first prize....!!!

Now, that the fest is over and all the experiences have been shelved in our memories.... its back to the gring of studying and the usual mundane life of classes and college..... but... when is college life ever mundane....??
Cheers....!!!

Mumbai Salsa...!!!

One of the most important thing that happened to me in year that is running past me is the Visit to MUMBAI....!!!
Mumbai, for me is never new, I went to Mumbia when it was Bombay and I was three months old. Its a filthy city, has Asia largest slum.... but it lives up its name of being The City of Dreams. Initial years when I used to make the periodic Mumbai trips was because, my Dad's Masi used to stay there. But after 2004, there was no great reason to go to Mumbai. In 2004, I had gone for my admissions purposes.
But, 2006, summer bought me a week of holidays and a chance of spending that week with my boyfriend and cousins in Mumbai. Btw, Shayon, my boyfriend stays in Mumbai. But those were holidays... and this year, I saw the true flavour of Mumbai.... I travelled in buses.... and travelled mostly alone. Why? Well.... that is coz, I had gone to work with IOC's law deptt. in Mumbai for a month.
The experience, is worth the office hours that I put in. No it was not the partying... it was just a sense of feeling like grown up... a sense of being independent that really mattered to me.
Now I am looking forward to the next year... so that I can live my month...of being just me again...!!!

The Wedding Vows..(woes)

One of the thing that really was highlighted this year was- Weddings...!!!

Three of my cousins got married in the span of 1 month... so much so.... me being next in line is very much anticipated...!!

Not only cousins, it seemed that a lot of people of my generation got married this year... and how many are gonna last...well... that is a question that nobody can answer.

One of my cousins got married in Feburary this year and well... she already gotten divorced and is pretty sad that things din work out. Not only her, all of us were shocked to the core that things dint work out for her. She is smart,witty...and extremely good looking...!!

But, whatever said and done, weddings in the family are just an awesome affair... I mean... its so cool dressing up and all. Apart from that you eat drink and dance... and everybody is so happy...!!!

I have such a huge family... that is to include my extended family also...so loads of weddings that happened in front of me.. and each wedding has its own special memory.....!!

But this year, the most memorable wedding that I had was of my cousin Shubhra. She about three years older to me. Her wedding was out of station in Chandigarh...and my entire extended family(paternal) was there. My bua, who stays and works in Chennai, made an effort to come and attend the wedding there... it was a blast. Though, in the entire wedding, everybody kept on asking, since I am next, when am I getting married...!!!

The wedding season this time was truely all happiness....!!! Lets c whats in the next year...!!!
